Inspector notes: Observed thermometer on reach-in cooler not providing accurate ambient temperature. Observed reach-in coolers missing thermometers to measure ambient temperature. Corrective action - PIC advised to purchase thermometers for each cooler to monitor and ensure proper ambient unit temperatures. In a mechanically refrigerated or hot food storage unit, the sensor of a temperature measuring device shall be located to measure the air temperature in the warmest part of a mechanically refrigerated unit and in the coolest part of a hot food storage unit.
