Consumer advisory not provided for raw or undercooked food
Inspector notes: Observed packages of spicy tuna sushi rolls packaged for retail sale located on the top shelf of a refrigerated display case near the Deli department without a consumer advisory on the packaging or near the display case. The packaging and ingredient list do not describe the tuna as being cooked or raw, but the fish appears to be raw. Other packaged sushi rolls (e.g. California Roll) in the same display case contain language on the packaging describing the fish used as cooked or smoked. Offering and serving undercooked proteins requires an approved consumer advisory at all points of sale; and must contain an approved disclosure method and reminder statement. The manager removed the spicy tuna sushi packages from the sales floor at the time of inspection. Must provide approved consumer advisory at all points of sale prior to re-inspection. Upon reinspection, the establishment has not corrected the violation. The establishment posted allergen warning signage instead of the appropriate consumer advisory for raw or undercooked foods. Discussed the proper advisory to post on packaging and at product location with person in charge. *Reinspection rescheduled for Thursday April 3rd. *2nd consecutive violation
