Sunset Vista Elementary

Inspector notes: Observed employee coughing into their hands and wiping their nose with their bare hand in the kitchen area. They were observed briefly leaving the kitchen area and then retuning shortly afterwards, at which point they were again observed rubbing their nose with their bare hand. They were observed to be putting on clean gloves at that point to begin working with food. Employee was instructed that anytime contamination occurs to the hands, such as from coughing or rubbing the nose, that they must wash their hands. Employee threw the gloves away and washed their hands. Discussed the importance of proper hand washing and when hand washing is required with the person-in-charge (PIC). Hands must be washed at any time contamination occurs and when changing tasks

Inspector notes: Observed handwashing sink across from the walk-in cooler that is beginning to separate from the wall. Please add silicone/caulking material around the handwashing sink so that it is sealed smooth and flush to the wall. Physical facility must be maintained in good repair at all times. Repair physical facility prior to next routine inspection
