Inspector notes: Observed an ice machine with black, slimy, organic-like material growing on and behind deflector panel. Per PIC they use the ice in the machine for customer drinks. Educated PIC that ice is considered a food item and the ice in the machine was considered adulterated due to organic like growths. Instructed PIC on clean-in-place protocol and that all food-contact surfaces must be properly sanitized after washing and rinsing. Correct prior to next routine inspection. 4-601.11(A) - Priority Foundation: Equipment, Food-Contact Surfaces, Nonfood-Contact Surfaces, and Utensils.
